Latchis screens ‘Bringing Up Baby’ to launch 75th celebration
BRATTLEBORO -- On Saturday at 7 p.m., Latchis Arts presents another one of its community cinema events. This time it is "Bringing Up Baby," a 1938 screwball comedy starring Katharine Hepburn as the heiress, Cary Grant as the hapless archaeologist, and Baby as a trouble-making leopard, accused of munching on the professor’s prize specimen.
"Bringing Up Baby" was released 75 years ago in 1938, the same year that the Latchis Hotel and Theatre opened for business. Latchis Arts plans a year’s worth of special events to commemorate the Latchis’ longevity and success in bringing uninterrupted entertainment and lodging to Brattleboro for 75 years. Admission is by donation. Visit latchis.com for details.
