Lescarbeau, Miskovich are Tulip Trot champs


BRATTLEBORO >> Mike Lescarbeau and Alexandra Miskovich were the winners of the Tulip Trot 5K road race, which started and ended at Green Street School on Saturday morning. There were 232 runners that crossed the finish line.

The top 10 male finishers were: 1st Mike Lescarbeau 19:32, 2nd Tim Whitney 21:13, 4th William Miskovich 21:24, 5th Ty Allembert 22:08, 6th Paul McGillion 22:32, 9th Elliot Bauer 22:56, 10th Eric Olderstein 23:38, 11th Isaac Wagner 24:12, 12th Logan Struthers 25:12, and 13th Jacob Brownell 25:12.

The top 10 female finishers were: 3rd Alexandra Miskovich 21:23, 7th Ava Whitney 22:39, 8th Diana Whitney 22:46, 14th Maresa Nielson 25:14, 21st Edie Cay 26:22, 24th Kali Taylor 27:00, 26th Julia Autrey 27:30, 27th Brandy Speno 27:34, 33rd Shannon Wruk 28:21, and 34th Elizabeth Wohl 28:37.

Mike Owens of Wardsboro and Tammy Richards of Williamsville prevailed in the Spring Into Health 5K on May 7 in Townshend. Owens was clocked in 18:32 and Richards crossed the line in 18:48.

Townshend's own Lucas Newton (19:56) and Mike O'Neill (20:06) of Connecticut rounded out the top three male finishers. Following Richards home were Westminster's Morgan Potter (23:56) and Nancy Libby (25:04) of Brookline.

In the Youth category, Newfane's Matt and Abigail Emerson each finished first. Trevor Stilwagen, Peter Broussard, Mary Sanderson and Hailey Richards also made it onto the podium.

The second Fun Run of the year will take place on Upper Dummerston Road in Brattleboro, near the country club entrance, on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Runners can enter the one-mile, two-mile, three-mile, or 2.4-mile (trail run) races.
