Letter: A great night for music
A great night for music
Editor of the Reformer:
What a wonderful Early Spring Concert performed by a great number of students from Brattleboro Union High School – some 65 in the concert band alone. The looks on their faces conveyed their love of music.
After the concert band, the stage setting was changed for the smaller groups and the concert continued with the 24 voices of the Madrigals – and what a fine group they are – directed by Patty Meyer.
The jazz workshop, coached by Eugene Uman and Robert Freeberg, allowed several students to "improvise" on their instruments – very interesting to hear.
Last but not least came the Jazz Band, again directed by Steve Rice.
Much as been written and said about "teenagers – no problems when you have music in your heart and soul."
Keep it up folks.
