Letter: An incredible town
An incredible town
Editor of the Reformer:
My wife and I visited friends near Brattleboro the weekend of May 20. We were impressed with the area from the very start for several reasons. The natural beauty of the entire region is captivating. The town itself has excellent restaurants and retail shops, interesting architecture and a unique pulse. Together, these aspects put Brattleboro in our "have to come back" category.
The most rewarding part of our experience was the people. Everyone was friendly and helpful. But it was the collective response of many groups to my serious bike accident that was so remarkable. The professionalism, compassion and complete lack of hesitancy to come to my aid by everyone was critical to the outcome, and will be an enduring memory ... the unexpected positive that comes from an otherwise unfortunate event. While we enjoyed the area in many ways, its terrific people were the defining element.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the people of the Windham County Sheriff's Office, the Vernon Fire Department, Rescue Inc., Brattleboro Memorial Hospital ER and radiology teams, and the remarkable guardian angel Samaritans Kathy R. and Kara B.
