Letter: Dutch Hill - what a great effort

As the publisher and editor of the Skier & Snowboarder Magazine, the longest running independent ski magazine in the UK, I recently saw a story online about volunteers clearing some of the ski trails at the former Dutch Hill Ski Area so they can be reopened sometime in the future ("Volunteers reopen trails at former Dutch Hill Ski Area," Nov. 24). I was wondering if there any plans to put back in any kind of lifts?

In this day and age, where all we often read about are skis areas that are closing down, it is great to see a historic ski area being brought back to life. I just wanted to drop you a line to say what a great effort and the best of luck for the future. I may even try and mention your efforts in the magazine or on our website. And you never know, one day I might get to ski Dutch Hill.
