Go the distance with the B&G Club

Editor of the Reformer:

I bet you can't name five things that are better than riding your bike on a nice summer day with an endless supply of free watermelon along the trip.

The 7th Annual Going The Distance Bike Ride is coming up on June 25. Last year, this event raised over $50,000 for the Boys and Girls Club in Brattleboro. It is a fun, wonderful event. Participants choose a designated bike route in which to ride in order to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club. Each cyclist works before the event to obtain sponsorship money for their ride and then all the money collected directly goes to keeping the Boys and Girls Club flourishing for another year. All are encouraged to participate in this awesome cycling event for a great cause on June 25.

Call Beth Baldwin at 802-254-5990 or visit www.bgcbrattleboro.com/GTD.html to participate.

The most important and critical thing is that there is free, endless, heavenly delicious watermelon offered during the ride, providing essential fuel and motivation to finish the day — it will make the effort more than worth it. Brattleboro is so fortunate to have the Boys and Girls Club.

Spencer Crispe, Going the Distance Committee member, Brattleboro, April 5
