Letter: Good fortune

Good fortune

Editor of the Reformer:

The Families First Cooking Classes are in full swing and are preparing for their second season of providing fresh baked goods for the Lilac Ridge Farmstand. Our first season in 2015 was a great success. With the generous support of Amanda Thurber/Lilac Ridge providing the venue, and the Brattleboro Food Coop providing the use of their Community Kitchen, Families First clients made and sold baked goods throughout the summer and fall. With the proceeds we were able to purchase a KitchenAid mixer and a full size Cuisinart from Brown and Roberts, as well as helping to cover the cooking class grocery costs. We are fortunate indeed to have such generous businesses in our community, and we look forward to the 2016 season at the Lilac Ridge Farmstand.

Jane Barron, Cooking Class instructor, Halifax, May 9
