Letter: Not what America needs

Not what America needs

Editor of the Reformer:

It scares me to think a minority of people in our neighboring state could pick the Republican nominee for president. Too often what happens in New Hampshire affects who wins the White House. The New Hampshire Union Leader has endorsed Chris Christie who as governor of the Garden State has overseen its bond rating drop eight times and has the highest real estate taxes in the country; not to mention a sales and income tax. New Hampshire's motto is "Live Free or Die." With Mr. Christie they won't get the former and together with the other saber rattlers running wanting to negate the Iran Nuclear Deal may get the later. Be careful what you wish for.

It is not necessary to attack Mr. Christie personally as a hothead and a bully. His record speaks for itself as more and more of my friends I grew up with leave what they now call the Garbage State. "It is just too expensive and everything is fall apart. You know The Sopranos is not just a TV show. It should tell you something when Napoleon was exiled to Elba and Richard Nixon to Bergen County." Does America really want to turn into New Jersey?

Dean Lynch, Westminster West, Dec. 2
