Letter: One soul at a time
One soul at a time
Editor of the Reformer:
Parishioners at St. Michael's Catholic Church and School are in for a wonderful experience: your new pastor, Father Justin Baker. He's a retail priest, one soul at a time, and a lovely man of God.
Father Justin has been at Christ the King here in Rutland for eight years. We don't see much of him outside the church and the school, unless we're up at 5 a.m. when he's taking his exercise. Mostly, you just feel his wake as he accelerates through every day tending people in need and finding souls in out-of-the-way places. He plugs so many holes in so many people's lives, there's nobody better.
Father Justin has been seen with a bad haircut and frumpy shoes but, heck, nobody's perfect. He was in business as a young man, so he knows the bottom line. In this case, Rutland's loss is Brattleboro's gain. Believe me, you are blessed.
