Letter: Scam alert
Editor of the Reformer:
In recent weeks I had two calls telling me I owe money to the I.R.S., and today a call supposedly from Publisher's Clearing House saying I had won big. All they wanted was $299 in processing and authorization fees which would be returned to me when I got the prize. The caller knew exactly where I live, which is scary enough. After checking with the police I was told that Publisher's Clearing House never asks for money if you've won. So, be careful.
