Letter: Support Elsie and Serenity

I am writing about the termination of the founders of New England Center for Circus Arts, Elsie Smith and Serenity Smith Forchion. It is truly devastating to see Elsie and Serenity, who are such amazing coaches, teachers and directors leave NECCA. As a student of NECCA for more then 10 years, and of Nimble Arts before that, I have seen the impact these two and their organization have had on the community; the children they have made laugh, the adults they have impressed and the hearts they have touched through doing what they love best, circus. They have also made it possible for hundreds of children to do, or see circus for little or no money through their circus in the neighborhood program and free shows at gallery walk, strolling of the heifers and many more places in Brattleboro and beyond. I hope that the community will do its part to support Elise and Serenity and to tell the current board of NECCA how they feel about this choice.

Sincerely,

Tara Bossard-Kruger
