Letter: Support for Mrowicki, Deen

Support for Mrowicki, Deen

Editor of the Reformer:

I don't think I have ever written a letter to a newspaper in an election year, but this is a very unusual year.

Vermonters have always been known as hard-working, strong (enduring not only the winters, but the potato bugs!), and above all, sensible. Vermonters are not easy to manipulate in an election, but exercise common sense and logic. We need to use common sense when we go to the polls, this week and in November.

I know Mike Mrowicki and David Deen to be solid, sensible people who listen to their constituents and work hard for our communities. Mike no longer runs Putney Family Services, but he is out on Main Street every month collecting for the Putney Food Bank. He is truly a public servant and deserves your vote.

David Deen has a long record of environmental concern and stewardship.

Both men are fair-minded and practice common-sense when it comes to legislation on all things, including gun laws. They're not single-issue candidates, as their opponents seem to be.

Please remember our great Vermonters — from Ethan Allen to Senator Aiken to Patrick Leahy and Bernie Sanders, who have made us all proud. Use your common-sense when you vote this year.

Cicely Carroll, Putney, Aug. 8
