Letter: Your thanks

Editor of the Reformer:

I recently was presented with a wonderful poster that many of you signed wishing me well and thanking me for my service to the town of Putney. This show of love and support was simply unbelievable to me; I was speechless. It was just another example of how amazing this town is, and how blessed I was to be working here with all of you to keep our community safe.

Truth be told, I should be the one thanking each and every one of you. Policing in a community such as Putney is not the job of one person; it is the responsibility that lies on the whole community's shoulders, and you all rose to the challenge. The connections I made and the experiences I had, all helped to form the policing ideals that I continue to work with to this day.

Please know that I miss each and every one of you, and look forward to seeing you all in the future. Thank you again for all of your support.

Melissa Martin, Windham County Sheriff's Office, July 26
