LIBRARY HOSTS CIVIL WAR TALK
BRATTLEBORO -- Brooks Memorial Library hosts "Among the Wounded 1864," a Civil War talk by David Twombly on Wednesday, May 22, at 7 p.m., in the Meeting Room.
Found in an old steamer trunk years ago, "Among the Wounded" in 1864 was written by Alexander S. Twombly, David Twombley’s great-grandfather.
The diary is unique in that it deals almost exclusively with the "human" aspects of what Rev. Twombly encountered as a volunteer minister assigned to the Union Army. The diary contains illustrations by Twombly inspired by what he saw in the field.
David Twombly is founder of Twombly Wealth Management Group, LLC. He was a history and political science major in college and has had had a life-long interest in American history and the Civil War.
