DOVER >> On Friday the Dover Free Library presents two live musical performances with Ruth Garbus and Julia Tadlock at 7 p.m.. Ruth is a musician and artist living in Brattleboro,
She has released three solo albums to date –"Ruthie's Requests," "Rendezvous With Rama," and "Joule " – and is also known for her roles in the bands Feathers and Happy Birthday,
Julia is an actor, director, former member of Happy Jawbone, and a Brattleboro resident. Together they sing songs composed by Ruth, accompanied by her on guitar. Ben Carr will present an intimate evening of solo ukulele music at 8 p.m.. with a nod toward modern-day uke virtuosos, Jake Shimabukuro and James Hill, Carr combines percussive strum patterns and finger picking with harmonic textures to create a unique 'ukulele sound and experience.
His performances include both original compositions and covers that flow from jazz standards and classical to rock and reggae. In addition, the library is having an End of Summer Party from
