Long-time Vermont lawmaker Sally Fox dies at 62
Officials at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington said Fox died Friday. She was 62. According to reports, she had been battling cancer.
Fox, a lawyer, served in the House representing Essex from 1987-2000 and returned to the Senate in 2011.
Gov. Peter Shumlin Friday called Fox was a relentless champion for kids and vulnerable Vermonters
Sen. President Pro Tem John Campbell said he couldn't think of anyone more courageous and passionate in fighting for people who couldn't fight for themselves.
Fox is survived by her husband and two grown sons.
Services are set for Sunday in Burlington.
