Lozito tallies twice in Norwich tie
BRATTLEBORO >> Colin Lozito, who graduated from Twin Valley, tallied twice to help the Norwich University men's soccer team to a 3-3 tie with Johnson & Wales on Saturday in Northfield.
The junior forward put away his own rebound in the 18th minute to deadlock the game at 1-1. And in the 76th minute, Lozito volleyed one from the 18 that went just under the crossbar to put the Cadets up 3-2.
Lozito has two goals and two assists this season for Norwich (3-3-2), which will play at Lasell on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and then host Plymouth State on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Bellows Falls graduate Sarah Wells already has five goals and one assist during her sophomore season at Castleton University. She tallied twice against Morrisville State, and also fooled the goalie versus Union, Daniel Webster and Mount Holyoke. Wells and the 2-5 Spartans will host Maine-Farmington on Saturday at 1 p.m.
A pair of Brattleboro Union High School grads are playing for the Castleton University football team. Soren Pelz-Walsh has 15 catches for 194 yards and three touchdowns, while defensive back Tyler Higley has made four tackles. The 0-3 Spartans will welcome Anna Maria on Oct. 1 at 1 p.m.
Patrick Gilligan, a BUHS graduate, placed 156th overall in 29:32 to help Castleton finish 20th in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
