AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) -- Central Maine Power Company is sending about 60 workers to help restore power in northwest New Jersey.

The workers ranging from line repair crews to mechanics and field coordinators are planning to depart on Friday.

They will be restoring power to customers served by FirstEnergy, one of the companies that helped CMP during the 1998 ice storm.

CMP President Sara Burns says, "We’re glad to have the chance to help them in return."

CMP sent crews to Connecticut last week to help restore power knocked out by Superstorm Sandy.
