Marianne Rigatti to speak about Maria Mitchell’s life on Sunday at All Souls

WEST BRATTLEBORO -- All Souls Church Unitarian Universalist invites all to worship on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. All Souls’ member Marianne Rigatti will explore the fascinating life and farsighted ideas of America’s first professional woman astronomer in "Maria Mitchell: Her Aim the Stars."

Born a Quaker on Nantucket when the island was a leading whaling port, Maria Mitchell grew up to find a comet, travel the world and serve for 20 years as Professor of Astronomy at Vassar College.

All Souls Church is a Welcoming Congregation and a Green Sanctuary located at 29 South St. across the road from the West Brattleboro Fire Station and Village Green. Nursery care is available.
