Medical examiner investigates untimely death in Brattleboro


BRATTLEBORO -- The Vermont Medical Examiner is investigating the untimely death of a Brattleboro woman.

According to a press release, emergency responders and the Brattleboro Police Department were called to a residence on East Orchard Street on March 5 at approximately 2:45 p.m., where they discovered the body of Kathryn Eppel, 60.

The Vermont State Police Crime Scene Search Team was called to assist in processing the scene, but at this time police say there is no threat to the general public.

Eppel's body was transported to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy. As this is an active investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
