Men accused of threatening Pokemon championships in court

BOSTON >> Two Iowa men charged with threatening violence at a Pokemon competition in Boston are scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court.

Kevin Norton, of Ames, and James Stumbo, of Boone, are expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutors say the men made social media threats against August's World Pokemon Championships and had a 12-gauge shotgun, an AR-15 rifle and nearly 300 rounds of ammunition in their car when they tried to register for the event.

They were held without bail after pleading not guilty to weapons charges at their district court arraignments.

Their lawyers have said that their comments were idle Internet chatter and they had no plans to commit any violence.
