BRATTLEBORO -- Co-op Power of Southern Vermont co-coordinator Michael Bosworth will be the speaker at the local AARP meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Brattleboro Senior Center, 207 Main St.

Bosworth will explain the benefit of becoming a member of Co-op power at any of the four levels of membership -- Standard, Farmer, Limited Resource and Buying Group. Standard members pay a one-time payment of $975 and Farmer members pay $750 and Limited Resource members pay $500 for full services. The services include discounts on solar hot water and renewable energy system installations, discounts on energy efficiency products and residential energy assessments, air sealing and insulation.

The solar array now producing electricity for the new Brattleboro Food Co-op building is owned by Co-op Power and is scheduled to be sold to the Co-op in five years. In the meantime member equity and development loans are paying for the project. Co-op Power would like to expand its membership in southern Vermont.

Members of the public are invited. National AARP members are welcome to join the local club by paying $4 in dues. For more information, call 802-387-4060.
