Mothers to be honored Sunday at First Baptist Church in Brattleboro


BRATTLEBORO -- Mothers will be honored this Sunday, May 11, at First Baptist Church, 190 Main St. in the center of town. Carnations will be dedicated to their love and teaching through the years.

Worship begins at 10 a.m. with Sunday School at 10:15 a.m. The Scripture, beloved by so many, is the 23rd Psalm, followed by the words found in the Gospel of John, chapter 10, verses 1-10.

Pastor Suzanne Andrews’ sermon is entitled "Jesus, the Good Shepherd." John Geary will be soloist.

The Women’s Society is preparing for the spring rummage sale on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Summer clothing, much of it new, will be featured, as well as small appliances, all kinds of tapes (musical and visual), knickknacks, books, quilts and more.

The food table will feature baked beans, doughnuts, pies, breads to name a few of everyone’s favorites.
