MSW announces Friday exploratory classes
Exploratory Classes provide teachers and students with the opportunity delve into areas of common interest in three eight- to 10-week cycles in the fall, winter, and spring. This year, MSW has adopted as its yearlong all-school theme of study, fields and streams. Fields is in reference to increased field trips and outdoor education throughout the school year. Streams will focus these trips and outdoor education lessons on science, technology, reading, engineering, the arts, and math.
Many Exploratory Classes are tailored to emphasize this theme. Exploratory Classes at MSW are unique from similar offerings in other schools in the fact that they group students together in grades one through grade eight. These groupings further foster the school's strong belief in community while providing older students with the opportunity to lead and mentor younger students.
This fall's offerings include Escape the Classroom, STEAMbuilding, The Eye in the Sky, Building Your Home, Dance, and Reader's Theater.
