Newfane Players casting for ‘Lovers and Other Strangers’

Thursday March 28, 2013

NEWFANE -- The Newfane Players will hold auditions for the Renee Taylor, Joseph Bologna comedy "Lovers and Other Strangers" at the Brattleboro Savings & Loan Community Room on Wednesday, April 3, and Friday, April 5, at 7 p.m. Auditions will also be held on Sunday, April 7, at 2 p.m., at Newfane’s Union Hall.

This production will be directed by Robert DuCharme of Brookline, who says "it’s the perfect play for people who love to act, or someone who has always wanted to act, who have busy schedules. There are five scenes with about 10 pages of script per scene. There can be five separate casts. There are no rehearsals on Fridays or Saturdays."

The five comedies touch on the general subject of the "superiority of women." Critics had a hard time deciding which one was the funniest.

People interested in working on the production, stage manager, rehearsal assistant, sound, lights, props, house managing, box office, ushering, are encouraged to sign up at one of the auditions. Performance dates are May 23-26.
