Newfane’s Congregational Church to hold services outside on Newfane Hill


NEWFANE -- The First Congregational Church of Newfane will meet for worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, on the Common on Newfane Hill (the site of the original church). In case of rain, the service will be held in the church sanctuary.

The Rev. Robert Hamm’s sermon is titled "A Day in the Park" with scripture from Psalm 8. Congregational hymns are "For the Beauty of the Earth" "Morning Has Broken," and "Shine, Jesus, Shine." Deb Cook will be singing "I Lift My Eyes to the Quiet Hills," accompanied by Bill Berner on guitar. Fellowship hour after the service will be held on Newfane Hill at the home of Neil and Carleen Pelsue.

Missions for June are the NewBrook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department and the Townshend Food Shelf.

Events for the upcoming week include Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday; Sew What’s at 5 p.m. Tuesday; Deacons’ meeting at 11 a.m., Trustees meeting at 6 p.m. and Church Council meeting at 7:30 p.m., all on Wednesday, July 2.
