Ninth Sunday after Pentecost observed at First Congregational
WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Aug. 10 is the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. Sunday worship is at 10 a.m. Pastor Joseph Amico will share a sermon entitled "Not Necessarily Good to be the Favorite Son" with scripture from Genesis 37: 1-4, 12-28.
Organist, Robert Popple, will share a prelude of "Elegy" by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, an offertory piece "I’ve Found a Friend" Arr. by Juliet Calkins, and a postlude of "So Send I You" by John W. Peterson. Congregational hymns this week include "Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise," "O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee" and "Lead, Kindly Light."
