Northfield pipe bomb suspect released on conditions
BURLINGTON, VT. >> A Vermont man who lost his left hand after a homemade pipe bomb detonated outside his Northfield home has been freed on conditions of his release.
The Burlington Free Press <URL destination="http://bfpne.ws/1RCnFD8">reports Mark McCloud had been hospitalized since the Dec. 9 blast that injured the 45-year-old and several others.
</URL>McCloud is accused of possessing and transferring an unregistered explosive through a federal complaint. No indictments have been returned in the case as of Monday night.
McCloud will be required to remain in Vermont, appear in court when ordered and maintain or seek employment in addition to other conditions of his release.
McCloud declined to comment. His next scheduled court appearance is a January probable cause hearing.
McCloud faces up to 20 years in prison for the current accusations.
