O'Donnell, Birse, Humphreys win Fun Runs


BRATTLEBORO — Conor O'Donnell (3-miler), Dave Birse (2-miler) and Zoe Humphreys (1-miler) were the winners of the first Fun Runs of the year.

Humphreys finished in 10:30 and was followed home by Joy Hammond (12:01). In the two-miler, it was Birse (15:57), Leo Schiff (20:16) and Clint Joslin (21:07). The order of finish in the three-mile race was: O'Donnell (20:12), Brian Buettner (20:38), Stan Kolpa (23:08), Tony Blofson (24:29), Dan Edson (25:09), Chuck Adams (25:29), Bob Lance (26:47), Lester Humphries (28:09), Jace Joslyn (30:27), Doug McCrae (31:19), Cathy Coutu (31:49), Peyton Joslyn (33:09), Clint Joslyn (33:09) and Dan Lance (38:07).

The next Fun Run will be held on Upper Dummerston Road, near the Brattleboro Country Club, on Wednesday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. The race directors are Gary and Chris Montgomery.

Baseball camp

BRATTLEBORO >> The Brattleboro Area Baseball Camp has set its schedule for the 2016 season. The eight-day camp for ages 9-12, Little League age, will start on Wednesday, June 22. It will run Wednesday, June 22 through Friday, June 24 and Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 9 a.m. until noon each day. The camp is directed by Alan Libardoni on Tenney Field at Brattleboro Union High School. It is held in cooperation with the Brattleboro Recreation Department.
