Off the Beaten Path film series returns

The Latchis Theatre is bringing back its Off the Beaten Path film series, which showcases recent films which may have slipped under the radar but are worth savoring. The series, presented in collaboration with the Brattleboro Film Festival, starts this weekend, with the 2015 drama "45 Years" on Saturday and Sunday, May 14 and 15, at 4 p.m.

In "45 Years" there is just one week until Kate Mercer's 45th wedding anniversary and the planning for the party is going well. But then a letter arrives for her husband. The body of his first love has been discovered, frozen and preserved in the icy glaciers of the Swiss Alps. By the time the party is upon them, five days later, there may not be a marriage left to celebrate. Written and directed by Andrew Haigh, "45 Years" stars Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay. It is Rated R and runs 1 hour and 33 minutes.
