One person killed in Walpole collision
According to a press release from the New Hampshire State Police, Matthew Flynn, 25, was heading north about 2 p.m. just past Blackjack Road when he crossed the centerline. New Hampshire State Police Sgt. Daniel Brow said the driver of a car coming south tried to pull over to the breakdown lane before the two cars collided head-on.
Following the collision, Flynn and his passenger, Gerard Flynn, 21, also of Nashua, were airlifted from the scene. Matthew Flynn was transported by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon where he is being treated for his injuries.
Gerard Flynn was transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
According to the press release, a second passenger in Flynn's vehicle died as a result of injuries sustained during the collision. That individual's identity is not being released at this time pending positive identification by the New Hampshire Medical Examiner's Office.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, Marguerite Lucas, 64, of Springfield, received minor injuries.
New Hampshire State Police Troop C was assisted by the Walpole Police Department, Walpole Fire Department, and the State Police Technical Accident Reconstruction Unit.
