Pacers prevail, improve to 15-0

SWANZEY, N.H. -- Bridget Bourne scored 16 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and rejected six shots to lead the Hinsdale girls basketball team to a 52-36 victory over Monadnock on Tuesday.

"That was her most complete game. When she plays like that, it hads a whole different dimension," noted Pacers coach Terry Bonnette.

Bourne and Allison Scott went a combined 14-for-16 from the free throw line. Skylar Bonnette finished with a team-high 19 points and Scott chipped in with eight.

The 15-0 Pacers will host Nute on Friday (Senior Night) at 5:30 p.m.

Brattleboro 57, Springfield 38

BRATTLEBORO -- The Colonels stole a 17-4 advantage in the opening quarter and cruised to their fifth victory of the season.

"We played well. We played together. Ten different players scored for us," said BUHS coach Paul Freed.

Ari Harrison had a double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) to lead the purple and white. Taylor Bird added 13 points, Alyssa Bezanson finished with six, and Daisy Giroux had a solid all-around game.

The 5-8 Colonels will play at Windsor on Friday night.

Proctor 63, Leland & Gray 27

PROCTOR -- Clarissa Elrich and Meghan Carter teamed up for 34 points to pace the Phantoms.

"We didn’t really hang with them," stated Rebels coach Gregg Morrow. "You go man, they’re too quick. You play zone, and they can penetrate."

Alex Morrow (9 points, 9 rebounds, 8 blocks) paced the Rebels. Ashley Goddard had eight points and eight boards before fouling out, and Haley Buffum contributed with nine caroms, four assists and three takeaways.

The 6-7 Rebels will face Otter Valley on Friday.

Boys Basketball

Monadnock 70, Hinsdale 37

HINSDALE, N.H. -- Matt Boggio and Hunter Nichols each had a dozen points for the Pacers, who were within nine points at the intermission.

"We just collapsed offensively. The shots weren’t falling, we were forcing up shots and then they would get out on the break," said Pacers coach Brad Venice.

The 2-11 Pacers will host Nute on Friday night at 7.

Woodstock 58, Bellows Falls 43

BELLOWS FALLS -- Connor Fegard scored 21 points for the Wasps, who took a 31-14 lead to the break. David Dunbar paced the 3-8 Terriers with eight points. Bellows Falls will play at Fall Mountain on Thursday.

Grade 8 Girls Hoops

BRATTLEBORO -- Devin Millerick poured in 19 points and Kelsey McAuliffe followed with 17 as Brattleboro beat Leland & Gray, 42-32. Rachel Borgeson (12 points) was the top gun for the Rebels and Cara Linder chipped in with a crazy eight.

Team Unified

HINSDALE, N.H. -- Hinsdale Team Unified’s record improved to 2-1 with a 30-20 win over Hanover High Unified on Tuesday afternoon. Hinsdale jumped out to a 10-4 lead during the first quarter and then maintained their scoring advantage throughout each quarter. Co-captain Sam Calderwood started off with eight points in the first half, adding 12 more in the second to finish with a game-high 20. Kobe Boudreau chipped in eight, while Trevor Grover worked hard on the boards. Hinsdale will host Keene High at 4 p.m. on Friday.
