BRATTLEBORO -- Worship on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church will focus on the story of the wedding at Cana where Jesus turned water into wine. The scripture, found in John 2:1-11, will be read by Betty Stacy. Pastor Cheryl Meachen’s sermon is entitled "Timing is Everything" and will examine the juxtaposition of Jesus saying, "My hour has not yet come" and the stewards noting that "you have kept the good wine until now."

The baptism of Kiara Alexis Powers will be celebrated and the church billowers will present liturgical dance with long sheets of luminescent fabric to "Heart of Worship."

A special offering will be received for Human Relations Sunday to support community ministries that teach and advocate for justice, especially among people struggling to survive in the margins of society.
