Pelz-Walsh is NAC Rookie of the Week

CASTLETON >> For the sixth time in as many weeks, Castleton University senior tennis player Soren Pelz-Walsh has been named the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week.

The Brattleboro Union High School graduate collected five wins last week to help the Spartans improve to 9-2 on the season and 3-1 in the North Atlantic Conference. Pelz-Walsh went 2-0 in singles play with both wins coming in straight sets, and teamed up with Quentin Barthe to capture three doubles wins, including an 8-2 victory in the top-flight at Lyndon. So far this season, he has notched a team-leading 19 wins, with respective marks of 8-2 and 11-0 in singles and doubles play respectively.

The Castleton men's tennis team faces, arguably, its toughest test of the season on Saturday when it takes on defending NAC Champion Colby-Sawyer in conference play at 1 p.m.
