• At 11:15 p.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department was conducting a call for service on George Street when the driver of a pick-up truck attempted to turn around, striking a fire hydrant in the process. As a result, Samantha Chiu, 24, of Bellows Falls, was arrested and cited with driving under the influence and cruelty to a child.
• At just before noon, the Vermont State Police responded to the report of a single vehicle accident on Route 11 in Londonderry. Troopers determined Christopher S. Leitos, 30, of Lakeville, Mass., was driving a concrete pump truck when he traveled off the side of the road and struck a tree. No injuries occurred and the driver had his seat belt on. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
• At 2:30 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a burglary on Sikes Road in Newfane. Investigation revealed several similarities to other reported burglaries in the area. Troopers spoke with neighbors and alerted them to the suspicious activity in the area. Anyone with information about this burglary or others in the area is encouraged to contact Trooper Matthews at the Westminster Barracks at 802-254-2382.
• At 7:50 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Sunset Lake Road in Dummerston. As a result, Michaela L. Trenchard, 27, of Brattleboro, was cited with driving under the influence.
