Dec. 20

• At 7:05 p.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 103 in Rockingham. As a result, Anthony Saienni, 46, of Rutland, was arrested and cited with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and giving false information. A passenger in the vehicle, Adam Gecha, 19, also of Rutland, was arrested and cited with possession of a narcotic.

Nov. 21

• At 5:55 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Interstate 91 southbound in Putney for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Troopers determined Darryl Douglas, 52, of Chester, was driving south when he encountered a deer in the road. Unable to avoid the deer, Douglas struck the animal, which died due to the impact. The Putney Fire Department assisted at the scene.

• At 6:20 p.m., the Vermont State Police and fire departments from Brattleboro and Guilford responded to 12 miles along Interstate 91 from the Massachusetts state line north to reports of suspicious brushfires. According to a press release from the Vermont State Police, an individual was seen walking near a fire at mile marker 6.25, however, no further description was provided of the suspect. All fires were extinguished by the fire departments. Anyone with information regarding these fires is urged to contact Trooper Nader Hashim at 802-254-2382.

Dec. 22

• The Keene, N.H., Police Department arrested Jason A. Cooper, 26, of Chesterfield, and cited him with criminal liability for conduct of another.

All persons named in the Police Log are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
