-- On Aug. 19, at approximately 12:15 p.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department responded to a report of an assault and robbery in the parking lot of Rite Aid on Rockingham Street. Police determined that Matthew Tyler, 16, of Bellows Falls, pushed a 60-year-old woman to the ground, causing an injury to the woman’s arm. According to court documents, while the woman was on the ground, Tyler more than $200 from her pocket. Following up on witness reports, police were able to locate Tyler several minutes after the attack. He was arrested and cited with assault and robbery. He was arraigned in court on Aug. 20. He was released with conditions and will return to court at a later date.
-- On Aug. 19, at approximately 11 p.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Green Street. As a result, Adam J. Dionne, no age given, of Island Pond, was taken into custody and cited with driving under the influence. He was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 2.
-- During the weekend of Aug. 22 through 24, the Brattleboro Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in the town of Brattleboro. An aggressive effort will be made to identify impaired drivers and officers will also be enforcing seatbelt, child restraint and other motor vehicle laws.
-- On Aug. 18, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Samuel R. Harris, 25, of Brattleboro, and cited him with operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Aug. 19, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Main Street for the report of a citizen dispute. As a result, Joshua P. Riopel, 21, of Brattleboro, was cited with disorderly conduct and unlawful mischief and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Aug. 19, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Travis Norton, 38, of Shaftsbury, and cited him with operating a motor vehicle with a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Aug. 20, the Brattleboro Police Department, the Brattleboro Fire Department and Rescue Inc. responded to the parking lot of Hannaford Grocery Store on Putney Road for the report of a motor vehicle crash with a possible car fire. Officers learned that the driver of a Toyota Corolla had accelerated into three parked cars, one of which was occupied at the time. The driver of the car continued to attempt to accelerate even though the vehicle was at a standstill, causing the tires of the vehicle to smoke. There was no fire discovered. The man then fled the scene on foot. Police are currently searching for the driver of the vehicle. Anyone who might have information is urged to contact Officer Gregory Eaton at 802-257-7950.
-- On Aug. 21, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the intersection of Marlboro Road and Dettman Drive for a report of a motor vehicle versus motorcycle accident. Officers determined that Jeanette Detch, 55, of Brattleboro, exited Dettman Drive and was struck by a motorcycle being driven by Murray Rumohr, 64, of Alberta, Canada. Rumohr was transported by Rescue Inc. to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The police department was assisted by the Brattleboro Fire Department, Rescue Inc., Brattleboro Towing and Al’s Towing.
-- On Aug. 21, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence on Pine Street. As a result, Michael S. Waterman, 46, of Brattleboro, was cited with domestic assault and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Aug. 19. at approximately 9:20 a.m., the Vermont State Police clocked a vehicle traveling at 112 mph in a 65-mph zone on southbound Interstate 91. As a result, Susanne M. Gravelle, 40, of Westport, Conn., was arrested and cited with excessive speed and careless and negligent operation. She was ordered to appear in court on Oct. 7.
-- On Aug. 20, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence on Hatch School Road. Troopers learned from the complainant that Scott J. Leone, 43, of Halifax, had allegedly committed assault on several occasions over the past month, though the victim did not seek medical treatment. During the investigation, troopers requested and were granted a search warrant. Following service of the warrant, they discovered 193 marijuana plants. Leone was cited with domestic assault and cultivation of marijuana and ordered to appear in court on Aug. 21.
-- The Vermont State Police is investigating the theft of three flat-screen televisions taken from a home at 52 Pikes Falls Road. Anyone with information is urged to contact the State Police at 802- 875-2112.
