The Brattleboro Police Department is warning area residents to be aware of a possible fraud in which a caller states they have won a lot of money and a brand new car. Subjects were told they must provide the sweepstakes agent, in this case "Winners International," with access to funds so that the money can be transferred and that the vehicle can be insured through the sweepstake's insurance agent. The police department is reminding people to never give out personal or financial information to anyone or any company they don't know or don't trust.
