-- On May 12, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Vermont State Police arrested William Garrow, 51, for violation of the conditions of his release from a previous arrest. Garrow was ordered to not possess a firearm as one of his conditions, but he was found to be in possession of a 12 Gauge shotgun. He was ordered to appear in court on May 20.
-- On May 9, at approximately 2:35 a.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Zachary James, 24, of Bellows Falls, and cited him with driving under the influence. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- The Vermont Crime Information Center issued a notification on Tuesday that Randy S. Johnson, a sex offender, had been released back into the community. Johnson was convicted in 2003 of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 10. Johnson is listed as "compliant" and "not high risk" by the Department of Corrections.
-- On May 7, the Vermont State Police stopped Timothy Chamberlin Sr., 53, of Dummerston, on Interstate 91 for a minor traffic violation. As a result, Chaberlin was arrested and cited with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On May 9, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Paul Sargent Jr., 31, no place of residence given, and cited him with driving with a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On May 10, the Brattleboro Police Department cited James H. Neveu, 57, of Brattleboro, with unlawful trespass. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On May 8, at approximately 4 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to East West Road for the report of a single-vehicle crash. Troopers determined David J. Walker, 27, of Jericho, was traveling east of the Middle Road intersection. As he traveled east down a steep grade into a sharp curve to the left, he lost control of his vehicle, went off the roadway and struck a telephone pole. Walker advised that he had swerved to avoid another vehicle that was close to the center line. Walker advised that the other vehicle did not stop. Walker was not injured in the crash. Walker was issued a ticket for failing to maintain his lane of travel. Alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
The Vermont State Police is requesting assistance in identifying the vehicle and other operator reportedly involved in this crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vermont State Police Brattleboro at 802-254-2382.
-- Emile Bernier, 18, of Saxtons River, had charges of felony possession of hydrocodone dismissed in Eighth Circuit Court, Keene District. Bernier pleaded guilty to a class B misdemeanor for possession of marijuana.
-- The Vermont State Police is investigating a trespass and unlawful mischief that occurred at St. Johnsbury Construction on Route 121 between 5 and 6 p.m. on May 9. Anyone who might have information is urged to call 802-254-2382.
-- On May 8, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Route 8A for the report of a single-vehicle crash. Edward L. Meigs, 63, of Melrose, Mass., was arrested and cited with driving under the influence. Prior to the arrival of State Police, Meigs was detained by two people who suspected him of being inebriated. Meigs was ordered to appear in court on May 17.
