-- On Nov. 17, the Brattleboro Police Department began an investigation into a report of a case of retail theft. Though police were unable to locate the suspect at the time, using surveillance photos and soliciting help from the public, Joseph Martin, 48, of Brattleboro, was identified. He was cited for retail theft and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Nov. 26, the Brattleboro Police Department took a report of a theft from a residence on Marlboro Road. Following an investigation, Jonathan R. Bell, 24, of Shrewsbury, was cited for petit larceny and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Dec. 4, the Brattleboro Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Linden Street. As a result, Brian Fletcher, 24, of Brookline, was cited for driving with a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Dec. 8, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Label Shopper on Putney Road regarding a reported shop lifter. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Jasmine Brock, 23, for retail theft. Brock will appear in court at a later time to answer the charge.
-- On Dec. 13, the Brattleboro Police Department cited Qadir N. Murray, 31, of Brattleboro, for being in violation of his court-ordered conditions of release.
-- On Nov. 12, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Vermont State Police responded to Route 5 in the area of East Putney Falls Road, for the report of an erratic driver. As a result, Kimberly Costello, 45, of Putney, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a press release, Costello's blood alcohol content was found to be almost four times the legal limit. Troopers also learned Costello's New Hampshire license was under suspension for a pending driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident charge in New Hampshire where her BAC was again almost four times the legal limit. And on Dec. 9, Costello was arrested by the Springfield Police Department following a crash where she had a BAC nearly four times the legal limit. She was ordered to appear in court on Dec. 17.
-- On Dec. 12, at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Vermont State Police received a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 5. As a result, Kimberly Lavalley, 26, of Danvers, Mass., was arrested for suspicion of driving dnder the influence as well as being a fugitive from justice from Massachusetts. Lavalley was processed and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $15,000 bail.
-- On Dec. 9, the Windham County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a one-car motor vehicle crash on Route 5 in the area of High School Road. Investigation revealed that Gordon Moore, 36, of Walpole, N.H., had traveled too fast for conditions subsequently colliding with the gutter on the side of the roadway.
-- On Dec. 10, the Windham County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a one-car motor vehicle crash on Route 5 in the area of the S curves near the station market. Investigation revealed that Bruce Hazelton, 49, of Putney, had traveled too fast for conditions causing his vehicle to collide with the raised curb on the roadway.
