-- On July 10, Vermont State Police received a 911 call reporting a suspected DUI operator on I-91 southbound. Police located the vehicle in a driveway in Brattleboro. After an investigation, the operator, Patricia C. Famolare, 55, of Brattleboro, was arrested for DUI. She was processed at the Brattleboro barracks and released on a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on Aug. 6 to answer to the DUI charge.

-- On July 9, Vermont State Police were notified of a scam attempt made involving an elderly resident. A male called claiming to be a Brattleboro police officer. The individual claimed that the victim’s great-grandson was being held on bail and that they needed to go to a Western Union location to send bail money. The individual who received the call was aware of this type of scam and did not believe the individual. The Vermont State Police would like to remind people to use caution if they receive these types of phone calls. They should attempt to make an independent verification that the events are true, such as placing a call to the department the individual is claiming to be from or by contacting the local police department. In almost all instances, any requests for money to be sent to an unknown party via Western Union is a scam, according to police.

-- On July 9, Vermont State Police were traveling westbound on Route 11 near Thompsonburg Road, where they observed a Chevy Tahoe being operated at a high rate of speed in the eastbound lane. While conducting a motor vehicle stop, it was determined that Keith Prouty, 58, of Londonderry, was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and transported to the Rockingham barracks for processing. He was issued a citation to appear in court and released to a sober party.
