Bellows Falls

-- Shawn Guerin, 45, of Bellows Falls, was cited for disorderly conduct on Saturday, June 15, and was ordered held at Southern State Correctional in Springfield until sober.

He was ordered to appear in court on Tuesday, July 23, to answer to the charge.

-- A local man was cited for domestic assault and unlawful restraint following an incident on Williams Street Extension on Tuesday, June 18.

Khalif Shabazz was ordered held on $1,500 cash or surety bond and was transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility to be arraigned at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19.


-- Ashley Tyler, 25, of Freehold, N.J., was cited by the Windham County Sheriff’s Department on Monday, June 19, for failure to appear in court for a scheduling conference.


-- According to police, Judith Jones, 78, of West Dover, was driving on East West Road on Sunday, June 16, when the right-side tires of the vehicle she was driving got too close to the edge of the road. This caused the vehicle to partially leave the road and the right-front bumper/fender area struck a large tree.

There were no injuries or evidence of impairment reported. No tickets were issued.

-- Jason Haskins, 28, of Brattleboro, was cited on Wednesday, June 19, for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

Vermont State Police were made aware of a single-vehicle crash into a telephone pole on Rice Farm Road. Troopers responded to Rice Farm Road and did not immediately identify the area of the crash as the vehicle involved had been towed without authorization, and the actual location of the crash was Quarry Road in the area of the steel bridge.

Troopers learned Haskins was traveling on Quarry Road, where he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a telephone pole. He contacted a tow truck, had the vehicle towed, and did not report the crash to the VSP. It was later determined that he was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Haskins was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro barracks, where he was fingerprinted and photographed. He was released and ordered to appear in Windham Superior Court: Criminal Division to answer to the charges.


-- Vermont State Police are investigating a reported burglary at a Guilford Center Road residence.

Witnesses reported observing a dark-colored sedan leave the residence at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 16.

-- Elizabeth Pennell, 21, of Springfield, was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol on Saturday, June 15.

She was processed and is set to appear in court on Tuesday, July 2, to answer to the charge.

-- Vermont State troopers responded to a crash on Interstate 91 South on Saturday, June 15, and learned Ian Dadona, 26, of Colchester, Conn., had fallen asleep while driving. There were no injuries.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Keene, N.H.

-- Matthew Nadeau, 23, of Hinsdale, N.H., was cited at 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, on Winchester Street for driving while intoxicated.

-- Jessi Ryan, 63, of Walpole, N.H., was cited on Route 11/103 for operating with license suspension at 5:24 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.


-- At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, Vermont State Police responded to a crash on Route 8A.

Troopers arrived to find Mbangu Mangala, 68, of Lynn, Mass., being treated by emergency personnel. Mangala told troopers he had been in a crash.

Investigation revealed another vehicle had struck Mangala’s vehicle and left the scene. Troopers located the front end of the missing vehicle, along with its New Hampshire license plate. The next morning, the operator who had left the scene came forward and was identified as Emily Hallock. She was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.

-- Andrew Ryan Massari, 22, of Whitingham was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and unlawful trespassing (dwelling) on Sunday, June 16.

Vermont State Police report receiving a call at 9:54 p.m. about a domestic disturbance at the Massari residence on Fowler Road. Troopers discovered that Massari had driven to his mother’s house alone, gotten into an argument with his mother’s fiancé and refused to leave when asked to. It was learned that Massari had consumed alcohol before driving to his mother’s house.

Massari was processed at the Wilmington Police Department, where he was released and ordered to appear in court at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, to answer to the charges.
