Bellows Falls

-- On Monday, March 18, the Bellows Falls Police Department recovered property stolen in the village on Sunday, March 10.

The property was recovered from a residence on Rockingham Street. The investigation is on-going and charges are expected.

-- Ernest Wright, a 58-year-old homeless man, was cited for unlawful trespass as a result of an incident that took place at Best Dressed laundry on Saturday, March 16.

-- Bellows Falls Police responded to the area of Williams Street Extension on a report of a vehicle on the street playing a loud stereo at 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.

Alexander Kelley was cited for driving while intoxicated and ordered to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

-- Anton G. Lutz, of Bellows Falls, was cited for domestic assault against a 17-year-old girl.

Lutz was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $1,000 bail. The Vermont Department of Probation and Parole also issued an arrest warrant for Lutz for violating his probation in connection to this matter. He is being held without bail on the violation of probation warrant.

-- Travis Cyr, 31, of Chester, was cited for disorderly conduct and was ordered held until sober and was cited to appear in court on Tuesday, April 23, to answer to the charge.


-- Brattleboro Police officers responded to a reported citizen dispute at Room 457 of America’s Best Inn at 959 Putney Road on Wednesday, March 13.

Heather L. Cheeney, 29, of Brattleboro was cited for disorderly conduct.

-- Tammy L. Musgrove, 42, of Brattleboro, was cited for dispensing regulated drugs after Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on Clark Street for a medical issue on Sunday, March 17.

-- Angel E. Figueroa, 23, of Brattleboro, was found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana during a traffic stop on Thursday, March 21.

At approximately 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, he was cited for reckless endangerment and violation of conditions of release after allegedly threatening another man with a handgun.

-- Ralph Markham III, 25, of Watertown, Conn., was cited for possession of marijuana after Brattleboro Police stopped the vehicle he was driving on Main Street in Brattleboro at 11:31 p.m. on Friday, March 22.

He is set to appear in Windham Superior Court: Criminal Division at a later date to answer to the charge.

-- Joel Porter was cited for first degree aggravated domestic assault at 9 p.m. on Friday, March 22.

-- Emily J. Harrison, 38, of Brattleboro, was cited on Saturday, March 23, for driving with a criminally suspended license.

-- Brattleboro Police responded to the Circle K gas station on Canal Street at 1:50 a.m. on Monday, March 25, to meet with a female who reported being assaulted by a male acquaintance.

Michael Johnson, 39, of Brattleboro, was then cited for domestic assault and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 26, to answer to the charge.

-- At 10:25 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, Brattleboro Police received a report of a theft that had occurred at the Gulf gas station on Canal Street.

Officers located the subjects involved and cited Joshua Sternberg, 29, for retail theft and took Daniel Williams, 26, into custody after it was determined there was an active warrant for his arrest.


-- Vermont State Police responded to a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Upper Dover Road at 9:36 a.m. on Friday, March 22.

Troopers discovered that Alan K. Young, 29, of South Newfane was northbound while Tesfa J. Jacobs, 21, of West Wardsboro, was driving south. The two drivers collided as they were driving around a sharp curve in the road.

Heidi Parent, 45, of South Newfane, was Young’s passenger and was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. She was later released.

The crash is still under investigation but the narrow road and icy road conditions were contributing factors.

Marlboro Fire Department and Deerfield Valley Rescue also responded to the scene of the crash.


-- A 17-year-old juvenile was cited with possession of marijuana after the vehicle she was riding in was stopped by Vermont State Police on Route 30 for defective equipment.

The juvenile was cited and ordered to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.


-- A local man reported that between Sunday, March 3, and Monday, March 25, his home on Fort Hill Road was entered and items were stolen.

This case is still under investigation and anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact Vermont State Police in Brattleboro at 802-254-2382, ext. 566.


-- Vermont State Police responded to a reported disturbance on Lower Bartonsville Road at 6:25 p.m. on Monday, March 25.

Carter Kinoy, 19, of Rockingham, was cited with domestic assault and was scheduled to be arraigned in court at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.

-- Sean Baker, 37, was cited for second degree aggravated domestic assault on Wednesday, March 27.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rockingham Barracks had responded to a Colley Hollow Road residence at approximately 2:30 p.m. on a report of a possible family fight in progress.

Baker was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield and held on $2,500 bail. He is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

Saxtons River

-- Joshua Robarge, 30, of Saxtons River, was cited at 3:04 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, for driving while intoxicated.


-- Vermont State Police and the Whitingham Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash that damaged property on Vermont Route 100 at the intersection of Goodnow Road at 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.

Investigation revealed that Robert Gilman, 60, of Adams, Mass., had been northbound on Route 100 when Richard Belval, 47, of Whitingham, pulled out of Goodnow Road directly into Gilman’s path. A collision could not be avoided and Gilman’s right, front bumper/fender area struck Belval’s driver’s side door and front fender area.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene by their respective operators. Belval was issued a written warning for failing to yield to on-coming traffic.


-- Daniel Hall, 37, of South Windham, was cited for driving under the influence after his vehicle was found in a snowbank off the road on Windham Hill Road at 8:47 p.m. on Friday, March 22.

He was ordered to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
