-- On Feb. 3, around 12:20 p.m., Brattleboro Police stopped James E. Smith, 34, of Brattleboro, for a motor vehicle violation. A check of his driver’s license revealed that his privilege to drive in Vermont was suspended. He was arrested for that offense and was later released with a citation to appear in court on Mar. 12.
-- On Feb. 3, Vermont State Police stopped Todd E. Custer, 30, of Springfield, N.J., for operating his vehicle in excess of the posted speed limit on Route 100. Custer was found to be operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was taken into police custody. Custer was processed and later released with a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on Feb. 19 to answer to the charge of a DUI.
-- On Feb. 3, Sean Yao, 27, of New York, N.Y., was arrested by the Windham County Sheriff’s Department for possession of marijuana. Yao was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on Route 30 in Jamaica Village. He was cited to appear at the Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on Mar. 26.
-- On Jan. 30, Stacey Bonang, 45, of Weston, called the Vermont State Police to report that her vehicle had just been stolen. Bonang advised that she was traveling on Route 11, when she encountered a female hitchhiking near the Mill Restaurant. Bonang picked her up and gave her a ride to the Londonderry Plaza. Bonang left the female alone in the vehicle when the female requested to make a private phone call. At that point, the female locked the doors and drove off.
Bonang’s vehicle is a maroon 2013 Subaru Forester with Vermont registration FSH112. Bonang described the female as 5-foot and 5-inches tall, with a slender build and glasses, wearing a black jacket and dark hair tucked up into a hat. She also wore jeans and boots with the jeans tucked into the boots. The stolen vehicle was located the following morning, crashed into a tree on Route 100 near Piper Hill Road in Weston.

-- On Feb. 3, Vermont State Police located William Manson, 24, of Springfield, in Rockingham. He was arrested on two outstanding warrants issued by the Windsor County Criminal Court. Manson was also cited for possession of cocaine and was ordered to appear at the Windham County Criminal Court on Feb. 26. He was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
-- On Jan. 29, Donald O’Connor, 33, of West Chesterfield, N.H., was arrested by the Windham County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant for failure to appear in court for a pre-trial conference. He was taken into custody and later appeared before the Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division as a result.
-- Sometime between Jan. 30 and Jan. 31, unknown subjects gained forcible entry into a plumbing and heating business located on Route 121. Stolen items from the store include brass fittings, a copper rod and a yellow Fluke electrical tester model no. T5-600. This same business has been broken into three times in the last week. Anyone with information regarding the burglaries at this location are asked to contact Trooper Berry at the Vermont State Police Barracks in Rockingham at 802-875-2112.
