Bellows Falls

-- On Jan. 17, Bellows Falls Police responded to The Square for a male yelling and swearing. Upon arrival, Bellows Falls Police made contact with Mark Bresland, of North Walpole, N.H. Police said Bresland resisted while officers attempted to place him under arrest. Bresland was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and violation of conditions. He was ordered to be held on $500 cash or surety bond. Bresland was transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of bail to appear at a later date.

-- On Jan. 17, Bellows Falls Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Atkinson Street. Tammy Lowell, of Putney, was arrested and charged with operating after criminal suspension. Lowell was released on a citation to appear at a later date.

-- On Jan. 18, Bellows Falls Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Williams Street. Eric D. Stockwell, of Bellows Falls, was placed under arrest for DUI and operating after criminal suspension. Stockwell was released on a citation to appear at a later date.


-- On Jan. 17, Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for a motor vehicle violation on I-91. Anthony S. Clark, 35, of Hartford, Conn., was riding in the vehicle. During the roadside investigation, Clark was found to have an active arrest warrant in Vermont for possession of marijuana. Additional record checks revealed that Clark had two active arrest warrants from Virginia that were extraditable. Clark was taken into custody and transported to the Brattleboro barracks for processing. The warrants from Virginia were for grand larceny and possession of a regulated drug. Clark was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.


-- On Jan. 16, Vermont State Police were contacted by the Londonderry Town Highway Department, advising that, while out sanding the roads, the driver encountered a vehicle stopped in the southbound lane of Route 100, facing north. The plow truck operator advised that the vehicle was in gear and a female was passed out behind the wheel.

Melissa Brown, 40, of Londonderry, was found operating the vehicle and was not able to communicate with members of Londonderry Rescue. Rescue members were forced to gain entry into the vehicle by breaking a window to check Brown’s welfare. Brown was deemed to be uninjured and without any medical emergencies. She was screened for DUI and subsequently placed under arrest for the offense. Brown was taken to the Rockingham barracks, where she was processed and released to the custody of her husband.

-- On Jan. 16, Vermont State Police received a call regarding a license plate theft on Boynton Road. The call was placed by a Londonderry resident who informed police that his license plate, EKH536, was registered to a 2000 gold Subaru Legacy. He state that he observed his license plate missing two days prior. However, he was not sure if the plate was stolen at his residence or at his place of work in Manchester Center. This case is still under investigation.


-- On Jan. 17, Caitlin Malloy, 27, of Manchester Center, was driving east on West Jamaica Road, near the intersection of Canedy Road, when she lost control, went off the roadway, struck a guardrail and a street sign. Her vehicle sustained moderate front end damage and was towed from the scene. Malloy was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
