Police: Man involved in Morristown car dealership crash dies

BURLINGTON, VT. >> Police say an elderly man who was critically injured after he crashed into 10 parked cars at a northern Vermont auto dealership earlier this month has died.

Police notified The Burlington Free Press of Leopold LeRiche's Dec. 17 death on Sunday.

Cpl. Garth Christensen says LeRiche succumbed to injuries sustained in the Dec. 3 crash at McMahon Chevrolet at the University of Vermont Medical Center.

Police say LeRiche hurtled through the intersection of Center Road and state Route 15 before colliding with 10 parked cars in the parking lot of the Morristown dealership.

Christensen says an official cause of the crash has not yet been determined, but potential medical issues haven't been ruled out. Police are still waiting for the results of LeRiche's autopsy from the medical examiner.
