-- Rachael Gauthier, 41, of Brattleboro, was charged May 29 with driving with a criminally suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident. She was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court: Windham Criminal Division at a later date to answer the charge.

-- Richard McPhail, 48, of Dummerston, was arrested June 10 for simple assault and disorderly conduct after police received a report from a bar owner that McPhail had scratched his head, kicked him and spit on him when he asked McPhail to leave. Police located him on Elliot Street and cited him to appear in court at a later date.

-- The Brattleboro Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Jody Mason, 34, of Greenfield, Mass., for failing to registry in Vermont as a sex offender. Mason has a prior sex offense conviction in Massachusetts and it was determined he established residency in Brattleboro. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the police at 802-257-7950.

-- Patrick Bokum, 22, of West Chesterfield, N.H., was charged June 19 for gross negligent operation of a motor vehicle after police responded to a single-vehicle collision on Putney Road. He was cited to appear in court on July 19 to answer the charge.

Bellows Falls

-- Nicholas J. Gregory, 37, of Rockingham, was arrested April 5 for driving with a criminally suspended license. He was cited to appear in court on July 26 to answer the charge.

-- Thomas Parrott, 31, of Bellows Falls, was arrested June 18 for driving with a criminally suspended license. He was cited to appear in court at a later date to answer the charge.


-- William E. Foster, 24, of Freedom, Maine, and Abby L. Travis, 30, of West Glover, were arrested June 16 for possession of heroin and marijuana after police stopped a vehicle on Interstate-91 for several motor vehicle violations. A search of the vehicle yielded 90 bags of heroin. Both were cited to appear in court to answer the charges.


-- A 51-year-old Putney women was injured in a single-car accident on Route 5 Wednesday afternoon. According to police, Laurie Trotman was traveling south when she drifted off the right side of the roadway. The right front portion of her 2004 Oldsmobile Alero struck the north end of the bridge railing on the west side of the road, rotating clockwise and coming to a rest in the southbound lane facine in a southwesterly direction.

Trotman was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital by Rescue Inc. for treatment for minor leg, arm and chest injuries and possible head injuries, according to police.

At the time of the crash, it was raining and the roadway was wet. Trotman was ticketed for failing to maintain her lane.

The Vermont State Police, the Putney Fire Department and the Windham County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.


-- The Vermont State Police responded to a crash where a vehicle struck a parked car on Route 121. The vehicle owned by Leanne Winter, 28, of Westminster, was damaged by a car sometime around 4:45 p.m. on June 20. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 802-875-2112.
