Police seeking suspect in Chesterfield robbery attempt


CHESTERFIELD, N.H. -- On Thursday, March 27, at approximately 9 p.m., the Chesterfield Police responded to the Riverside Grocery in West Chesterfield on a report of an attempted Robbery.

The initial investigation revealed that a male, approximately 6-foot to 6-foot-3, thin build, wearing a black ski mask, blue hoodie sweatshirt, black gloves, blue jeans and brown boots entered the store with a plastic shopping bag. The suspect approached the store clerk, opened the plastic bag and asked for the money in the cash register. As the store clerk started to walk toward the cash register, a second store employee came out of the walk in cooler. This startled the suspect and he fled on foot toward Gulf Road.

No weapons were displayed or threatened during the course of this incident and no money was taken.

The Chesterfield Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information leading to the identity of the suspect to contact Lt. Duane Chickering at 603-363-4233, ext 62.
