Police: South Burlington store robbed for third time in week


SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT. >> Police are investigating possible connections to a string of recent burglaries after a convenience store in South Burlington was robbed for the third time in a week.

The Burlington Free Press reports the theft occurred around 12:30 a.m. Saturday at a Cumberland Farms store on Pine Street.

Police say the suspect made lethal threats of violence while demanding money from the register. No weapon was ever displayed and the thief fled the store on foot. He is still at large.

The suspect is described as a thinly built white male that is roughly 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall. Police say he was wearing gray pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a black mask during the robbery.

Burlington and South Burlington detectives are investigating.
