Post 5 baseball team debuts Sunday


BRATTLEBORO >> The Brattleboro Legion Post 5 baseball team will debut with a doubleheader versus Essex On Sunday at Tenney Field, starting at noon.

In other games this month, Post 5 will visit Essex on June 16 at 5 p.m., play a doubleheader at Lakes Region on June 18 at noon, host a doubleheader versus Randolph on June 19 at noon, play at Bennington on June 23 at 5:30 p.m., host a doubleheader versus Greenfield on June 25 at 2 p.m., host a doubleheader versus Bennington on June 26 at noon, play at Bellows Falls on June 28 at 7 p.m., and visit Randolph on June 30 at 5:30 p.m.

Post 5's schedule for next month looks like this: July 3 at Greenfield at 1:30 p.m., July 5 host White River at 5:30 p.m., July 7 host Lakes Region at 5:30 p.m., July 9 at White River (doubleheader) at noon, July 12 host Rutland at 5:30 p.m., July 15 host Bellows Falls at 5:30 p.m., July 17 at Rutland (doubleheader) at noon, July 19 host Bellows Falls at 5:30 p.m., and the Legion State Tournament is set for July 23-27.


SAXTONS RIVER >> The doubleheader between Williamstown, Mass. and the Saxtons River Pirates on Sunday was rained out. The Pirates' next scheduled game is a doubleheader on Sunday versus the South Burlington Black Sox in Burlington.
